The room was very clean and extremely comfortable. The view from the balcony was superb, and the breakfast and sevice is second to none.
The shower was not up to standard, and we could not use the bath for a bath because of thhje faulty shower valve.

The view & location was the only point in its favour!
The actual hotel ius very shabby and awaiting total refurbishment. The prices they are charging cannot be justified in any way and I was bitterly dispaoointed with the standard of the hotel, especially the rooms. The window panes in pone of our rooms was very loose in its frame and not really very secure!

The white bedlinen - the clean room - tea making facility's with bottles of water etc. the cotton wool balls & hairdryer the staff - the food - the views the pool, the sun shower, the gym, steam room & sauna
No spa working coffee at breakfast too cold and weak 2 drinks from the bar on same day, were served incorrectly as we got drinks from the bar man - when it was the female manger who actually served the correct drinks later ( I appreciate the Irish coffee & white wine with soda, may have been complicated drinks but if the bar staff where given very little training I’m sure they could have delivered these drink sooner, rather than waiting quite some time for a supervisor to produce said drinks)

The staff were the stars of the show, closely followed by the views. An excellent hotel for a family or just for a couple. I would highly recommend it.
Salcombe prices (for staying in Salcombe!)

We were very disappointed with the hotel - I rang the day before to arrange dinner and was told that this would be arranged upon arrival, however when we got there no-one to us about dinner. The breakfast was really poor - there was cheap package bread, very very weak coffee and the runniest, most salty scrambled egg I have ever tasted. plus our paper didn't arrive and when we asked we were told that it hadn't been delivered. The hotel was very expensive for such poor food!

Location cannot be bettered. Large room, very comfortable bed. Staff attitude when asked for anything very willing and helpful. Hope the bidet is retained.
Badly in need of updating - due to start later 2011. No clock in the bedroom. Cupboard doors either broken or just old. Bathroom cramped, no info on how the shower/bath worked.
